What’s a Upior? What’s a Vampire?

Upior is similar to a vampire, which I inspired the name from Slavic Folklore but not based on it. Also, Hemlock Grove. The creation I created meant that those who carried the older blood are known as upior while vampire is for the newer generation. What are the differences? Not much. They both needed blood to survive and stay far from where the sun shines. Same goes with the turning, they need to transfer blood to create another one. Here’s the difference, a long list of each.

Upior

The oldest and first is Romulus. A powerful sorcerer cursed him into a beast whose thirst for blood while giving him the ability to transform into a giant bat. That big bat was a gift before Romulus went against the man. It didn’t just end there. He encounters a particular god that rules over the sun and light, or more likely, the opposite. Whatever reason Romulus did make that god furious, which isn’t his fault, caused his inability to walk under the sun.

Upior may be the oldest, but the strongest. Their blood helps them evolve until hitting their limit, and that’s what I’ll bring Vlad. One of Romulus’s progenies.

Vlad could control and shapeshift his blood into any figure; tiny bats or humongous beasts like wolves. Vlad can scatter himself into the air within his structure, transporting him elsewhere. There’s more that the man can do; becoming someone’s shadow, mind control, weather manipulation, etc. I might think of taking away that last part. Wondering if Romulus could do what Vlad could. No, he can’t. The old upior had already hit his limit.

Vampire

A upior can turn a person into a upior. A vampire can turn a person into a vampire. If both were to have offspring, those children would be known as vampires. Seems confusing? Not really. Vampires can’t evolve; they only have what they have from their parents or sire.

I’ll bring Belladonna, who’s turned into a upior while the rest of her three children are vampires. They’re her biological children, not turning. So, we’ll compare Belladonna and Vlad. This lady can use poison and grow her claws, and as for Vlad, able to control blood. With these unique abilities, Belladonna’s children received them but could not advance them. However, their mother can.
